Dear Prayer Partners,
Sometimes we must persevere even when we may have wrenching grief in our lives. In the Psalms 126 we read,
"Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them."
The work of 'sowing' is not what brings us tears. Circumstances in our lives bring our tears but there still may be work to be done. The Jews from our psalm who suffered during their time of their exile to Babylon had to labor on unfamiliar soil if they wanted to feed their families. A widow may weep as she washes lonely dishes. A son studies, yet weeps for his mother. A country weeps for their lost sons in battle. The promise is that God sees all our tears and they are not forgotten even as we carry on in our grief.
Rev. 21:4 tells us the end of our tears, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. The old order has passed away."
