To our Prayer Partners:
Moses was called the meekest of all the people on the face of the earth. (Num. 12:3) Jesus declared that the meek are blessed. (Matt. 5:5) Let us look at meekness this month.
Meekness begins when we put our trust in God. We commit our way to him, giving him all our anxieties, or frustrations, our plans, our relationships, our jobs, our health. Then we wait patiently for the Lord and trust Him to work things out in the best way for his glory and our good. We do not give way to quick or fretful anger as we hand our cause over to God. As James says, we are slow to speak and quick to listen (James 1:19). We are reasonable and open to correction. Meekness counts the blows of a friend as precious. Meekness addresses the failings of others from a deep conviction of personal fallibility, susceptibility to sin and utter dependence on the grace of God.
The quietness, openness, and vulnerability of meekness goes against all that we are by our sinful nature. The struggles we have show that God has begun to work in you and will continue to help you more.
