Dear Prayer Partners,
Is God preparing you for greater service in the King's army? Boot camp can be a painful and demoralizing time, but the rigors of training will make a soldier ready to stand firm when in the battle itself. The psalmist said in Psalm 119:71, "It was good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes." The psalmist did not say it was easy, fun, or pleasant. He only said, "It was good for me." You may feel like you have been wounded or laid low without remedy, but God declares, "See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god besides me . . . I wound and I heal" Deuteronomy 32:39. He is surely guiding you along a difficult path toward perfection in ministry. Remember that Paul was given a ?thorn in the flesh.' We do not know what that thorn was, but only that it hindered Paul.
"I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times, I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." 2 Corinthians 12: 7-9
May the Power of Christ rest on you in your struggle during God's training for greater ministry.
