Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Summer is here and the work of warm weather begun. The birds have built their nests and the fledglings are making forays into their environment. The lovely spring flowers have passed and the garden peas are picked. The tomatoes are small and green. The summer sky is brilliant and the sun is warm even in the morning.
As we look ahead to vacations and long evenings of twilight, let's also look at how we can make our prayer lives flourish.
We are summoned to pray without ceasing in all circumstances, whether the prayers of praise or of intercession. Jesus, when His disciples asked how to pray, taught them that God is our Heavenly Father who loves us, that His Name is Holy, that we should pray for the coming of His Kingdom on earth and in our lives, that we should pray for our needs, that we must pray for forgiveness for ourselves and others, that we need His help to keep ourselves out of trouble. How many of us pray about the decisions we make such as what to
purchase or the location of a new job? How few of us go to Him to plead that we may follow His path rather than our own way!
