"MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN" People of this world clamor for recognition, their "15 minutes of fame." "Know my name and deeds!" But God says to them, "God has numbered your days. You have been weighed in the balance. You are found wanting. Your ?kingdom' is now divided (in spoil.) Dan. 5: 25-28
Prov. 16:18 tells that pride goes before destruction. Ex. 10:2 reads "This is what the LORD. says: ?How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?" Pharaoh refused to humble himself before God; the plagues continued.
Daniel 4 tells a king's hard learned lesson. "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything He does is right and all His ways are just. Those who walk in pride He is able to humble." But grandson Belshazzar did not learn this humility. Daniel prophesied, "But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this. Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. " That night of the feast, enemy forces diverted the Euphrates allowing their army a direct path into Babylon. "MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN"
Moses, the great leader, was meek. Num 12:3 Ahab avoided calamity by humility before God. 1 Ki 21:26-8
(Jesus) "Being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage." Ph 2:6. Our Lord humbled Himself to become a man and to die on a cross for our sins. "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps."1 Peter 2:20-22
