On March 15, 2025, Raymond Klein, the Executive Director of Love INC for more than 20 years retired. Mr. Klein’s contributions to Love INC are too many to name, but suffice to say that his work in Charlottesville and Albemarle have positively impacted the lives of thousands of our neighbors, and empowered missions in churches throughout our community. In March the LOVE INC Board of Directors announced that it was starting a fundraising campaign to raise money for the purchase and operation of the Klein Care Wagon, in honor of Mr. Klein, that the organization and its partner Churches can use in mission to the community. One of the challenges faced by families in need in Central Virginia is for large items such as furniture and appliances. And we are blessed by many families willing to donate items for our brothers and sisters in need. However, it can be difficult to arrange for transportation of the items between the donors and the people in need.
Our goal is to raise $15,000.00 initially, that we believe will qualify us for an additional grant, to get us to the cost of a used vehicle. By investing in a vehicle that can be used regularly in mission, we believe that the value of the benefit to the community will far exceed the costs of acquisition.
